BRE TOMEY
ACTOR . CREATOR . TEACHING ARTIST

Bre Tomey is a bold physical actor, creator, and teaching artist from Southern California, born to be on the East Coast. Now in NYC for over 12 years, Bre works across theatre, film, and television as a performer, producer, and educator. Her work strives to be led by women, and is deeply rooted in raw, vulnerable physical expression. Her love of devising, clown, and Grotowski are embedded in her mission to use the body, follow impulse and exude intention with every breath: excellence is exhausting.

RECENTLY Bre received a BroadwayWorld nomination for Best Performance in an Off-Broadway Play for her work in Hungry Women at Soho Playhouse, which she also produced. The production won the Lighthouse Series at Soho Playhouse in July 2025. She is a supporting lead in FELON, a SAG feature produced by Phenom HQ, and her principal role in Resistance Picture's horror short film A Night Alone is moving through the festival circuit – most recently winning Best Horror Short at the New York International Film Awards. She returned to the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center for a developmental workshop of Emperor Joshua Norton by Holly Richmond, marking another collaboration with the O'Neill where she has developed multiple new works. In the interim, Bre serves as Adjunct Faculty at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where she teaches Physical Acting to Drama students. She also coaches actors preparing for college and professional auditions through her private practice.
